1200 MW Natural Gas Fired Combined Cycle PP by Rajanagaram Gas Power Pvt. Ltd.
The project involves setting up of unit capacities of 2×1075 MW each in two phases viz. Phase-I 1x1075MW and Phase-II 1×1075 MW. The proposal then was at different location in East Godavari District. The Committee in the said meeting informed the project proponent that the desirable unit configurations could be 2×1200 MW each and they may like to explore the same configuration, to which the project proponent confirmed its intention. The Committee therefore decided that the project proponent shall submit revised Form-I to the Ministry with the changed configuration of 2×1200 MW in lieu of 2×1075
MW. The Committee also in the said meeting observed that the identified site is a fertile agricultural land and as such, could be recommended for setting up of a thermal power plant. The Committee therefore decided that the project proponent shall explore alternative sites and come back again.
The project was considered for environment clearance on Jun 06, 2011
The project was issued environmental clearance on Jul 26, 2011
