The project involves setting up of 1260 MW in two phases viz. 2×300 MW (Phase-I) and 1×660 MW (Phase-II) Coal Based Thermal Power Plant at village Danro, Punsiya, Mahadevsol, Kusubana, Dumka, in District Dumka, in Jharkhand. Land requirement will be 667 Acres (For phase- I). Mahuagiri coal block from where coal is proposed to be procured is at about 25 Kms. For Phase-I the coal requirements will be 2.88 MTPA and water

The project was issued environmental clearance on Aug 24, 2011
