2×660 (1320) MW Coal Based Super Critical Thermal Power Plant at Village s Birra, Siladeshi and Gatwa, in Bamnidhi Tehsil, in Jangir Champa District , in Chhattisgarh
The proposal is for determination of terms of reference (TOR) for undertaking EIA/EMP as per provisions of EIA notification 2006. The matter was placed in the 54th Meeting of the EAC held during September 10-12, 2009. The EAC also noted that many power and other development projects have already been approved on the basis of water linkage from Mahanadi River. Already the EAC is informed that more than 400 MCM allotment out of water from Mahanadi River has been allotted. The EAC therefore agreed that the Ministry shall write to the state Govt. asking for details of water allocation from Mahanadi River for various projects. The Committee was informed that in the said meeting other proposal for which water is to be sourced from Mahanadi River were prescribed TOR.
The project was considered for issuing ToR on Oct 13, 2009 and the ToR was issued on Dec 04, 2009
